Besozzo Studio, Varese, Italy, 1987

Besozzo is in the northern part of Italy. It is 90 minutes by train from Milan. I had a three-month residency there from late November 1986 to February 1987. I lived in an old gate keeper’s house. It was a freezing winter. I had an old pot belly stove to keep warm and was low on funds. It was a terrific experience to spend a good chunk of time in a beautiful, dreamy place.
